The Enquirer picked Todd Portune over CCV member Dave Grossman.

I'll be voting for Owens. I think Parrott has had too many things go wrong in his tenure. A change will be a good thing.

I will also be voting for Portune. I think overall he has done a good job in his first term as a County Commish.

So what's the controversy with Parrot? Why is there a need to clean house?

Do I agree with everything he has done? No, but overall I am happy with what he has done. He has been very proactive about certain things, made certain that other things have gotten done.

That is one issue. There have been a couple of other contrversies over the past few years, I just can't come up with them off the top of my head at the moment.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I like that he lead the charge to sue the Bengals. I do expect we'll get some of our money back.

I also like that he provides some checks and balances in a county government that has been dominated by republicans.

As I mentioned before, for the most part he has maintained fiscal responsibility and as far as I can tell has put his liberal social philosophies on a shelf while commissioner. Portune has managed to mesh well in his job, even while working with a freak like John Dowlin.
